ABOUT CM PERFORMANCE HORSES
"Our vision is to build a solid foundation on each horse so they can reach their full potential and experience success through confidence."
CM Performance Horses began in 2019 when an individual approached the owner and founder, Chyenne Mortenson, to tune up and sell a couple of horses on consignment. Chyenne never imagine training horses for herself, let alone the public. But when she took on those first horses her passion grew from just competing to training horses for herself and the public.
The rest has been history.
Chyenne grew up near Cherokee, Iowa where she currently resides. She grew up on a cattle, hog and row crop operation. Her cousin, former Miss Rodeo Iowa 2004, introduced Chyenne to horses at the young age of 8. Chyenne started her journey in the showing industry. She showed Appaloosa's in the local Sioux Valley Appaloosa Club (SVAC) in Spencer, Iowa. From there she would go on to join the local 4H club, NBHA, Iowa High School Rodeo Association, South Dakota State University Rodeo Team, Interstates Rodeo Association, Iowa Rodeo Cowboys Association and the WPRA.
Chyenne now competes at local jackpots, amateur rodeos, and competes in the WPRA at PRCA Rodeos. She has a knack for putting a solid foundation and barrel pattern on horses. She has a goal of one day having her own herd to train and sell, but for now she stays busy with her few personal horses and client horses.
